2003 Share-Jones Lecture in veterinary anatomy

5 November 2003

The RCVS is pleased to announce that Professor Jean-Marie Denoix will give his Lecture, "Clinical Anatomy of the Equine Locomotor System", on Thursday 4 December at The Royal Veterinary College, Royal College Street, Camden Town, NW1.

Professor Denoix DVM PhD, Agrégé, was awarded the Share-Jones Lectureship by RCVS Council in October 2002.

Professor of Veterinary Anatomy and Head of the Equine Clinical Unit at the Veterinary School of Alfort, Paris, Jean-Marie Denoix is also Head of CIRALE (Centre for Imaging and Research on Equine Locomotor Disorders) in Normandy, France.

Nominating Professor Denoix for the RCVS Share-Jones Lectureship, Professor Leo Jeffcott FRCVS wrote:

"Professor Denoix has been Professor of Anatomy at the Veterinary School in Alfort, France, for 15 years and his contributions to fundamental anatomy and equine research through his books, publications and presentations have been extensive.

"Not only is he an anatomist, but he is also an excellent clinician dealing with lameness and orthopaedic problems. "

His other forte is diagnostic imaging and he is probably the foremost authority on ultrasonographic examination of joint problems in horses in the world.

"He has given presentations and 'wet' labs in over 25 countries and his talks are always complemented by spectacular visual material."

Thanks go to Professor Lance Lanyon for allowing the lecture to be held at the RVC. Guests will be admitted from 5pm and the lecture will be given at 5.30pm in the Great Hall.

Guests are invited to join Professor Denoix, and the RCVS President and Officers for refreshments afterwards.

All tickets for this event have now been allocated.
