Applications open for eminent members of the profession to join the RCVS Fellowship for 2022
31 January 2022
Members of the profession interested in joining the RCVS Fellowship 2022 intake have just a couple of weeks left to send in their application.
The RCVS Fellowship is a learned society, which plays a key role in helping to advance veterinary standards and promote scientific excellence across the profession. Members of the Fellowship come from all areas of veterinary practice, and have made a significant impact throughout their career on the wider veterinary profession.
As with previous years, there are three routes to joining the Fellowship. Each route has different criteria, which enables people with a range of areas of expertise and experience to join the learned society. These routes are:
- Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice
- Meritorious Contributions to Knowledge
- Meritorious Contributions to the Profession.
Applications for this year’s Fellowship intake will close at 5pm on Monday 14 February, and for each route applicants will need to include a 2,000 word summary of their contribution to the profession and examples of significant bodies of work they have produced throughout their career. The requirements for applying to join the Fellowship have changed from previous years, including the type of support materials needed from references. Full details of the requirements are on the Fellowship area of the RCVS website.
Dr Cheryl Scudamore, Vice-Chair of the Fellowship Board, said: “The Fellowship Board always receives a number of excellent applications to join the RCVS Fellowship, and I’m sure this year will be no different. It’s an exciting time to join the Fellowship as this year we are launching a new platform that will help us to collaborate with each other and communicate our work to the wider profession. I look forward to welcoming the new Fellows, hopefully in person, at the College’s RCVS Day in the Autumn.”
Anyone interested in applying to join the RCVS Fellowship can do so via our dedicated area on the RCVS website.
