Deadline extended for Queen's Medal nominations

6 January 2014

We have extended the deadline for nominations for the RCVS Queen's Medal to 31 January, to allow time for the nominations paperwork to be completed on return from the Christmas and New Year break.

"We received more enquiries about the Queen's Medal over the Christmas period but appreciated that people might welcome a little extra time in the new year to complete and submit their nominations," says RCVS CEO Nick Stace.

"We're certainly keen to allow anyone who wishes to make a nomination for this very special award the chance to do so."

The Queen's Medal, launched at the House of Lords last November, is a new Honour that will be awarded to a veterinary surgeon for a lifetime of outstanding contributions to the profession, and who has dedicated their career to working above and beyond the call of duty in the fields of veterinary medicine or science, or related areas.

It is the most prestigious Honour that we can bestow, and will be awarded at RCVS Day in London in July.

Please ensure we receive your nomination no later than 5pm on Friday, 31 January 2014.
