Final week to vote in VN Council elections 2004

3 May 2004

Veterinary Nurses have only five more days to cast their vote in the VN Council election 2004. The deadline by which all votes must be received is 5pm on Friday 7 May.

For the first time this year the RCVS has introduced online voting in an attempt to make the voting process quicker and more accessible. VNs can choose to vote online or by telephone (Freephone 0800 081 0201) as well as via the more traditional postal method.

So far, 406 ballot papers have been returned to Electoral Reform Services Ltd, the independent scrutineers.

Chairman of the VN Council, Roger Eddy, has urged VNs to use their vote saying, "If you do not know the candidates personally, please read their statements and vote for the one(s) you think should best represent your profession. The VN Council does play a key role in the future of veterinary nursing."

There is still time for veterinary nurses who may have misplaced or not received their ballot paper to request a duplicate; please contact Ian Holloway (020 7202 0727) in the External Affairs Department.
