Hard copy Registers available to buy

Copies of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Register of Members 2012 are now available to purchase.

For the first time, this year printed copies of the Register of Members and List/Register of Veterinary Nurses are no longer being posted free of charge to all veterinary surgeons and VNs respectively.

“Printing and distributing paper copies of the Register and List/Register costs around £150,000 each year, excluding staff time, and making this cost saving has helped us to freeze annual fees,” says RCVS Head of Operations, Corrie McCann. “There is also a significant environmental benefit from the reduced paper usage.”

Veterinary practices and the public can use the free ‘Check the Registers’ feature on the RCVS website to check who is registered as a veterinary surgeon or is a listed or registered as a veterinary nurse. This information is updated daily.

The 2012 Register of Members costs £25 for members and £40 for non-members, and the List/Register of Veterinary Nurses costs £10. Please note that the Register of Members no longer includes telephone numbers.

Copies of either publication can be purchased via the RCVS website (see ‘Publications’). Members need to log in to the members’ area of the website to purchase the Register for £25.
