'Looking back: stepping forward' seminar marks VNs' 50th
6 July 2011
Memories were shared and future directions considered at our ‘Looking back, stepping forward’ seminar, held at Belgravia House on Thursday 23 June to mark the Golden Jubilee of veterinary nursing.
The event was attended by a mix of pioneers of the veterinary nursing profession and those who trained them, and those involved with taking the profession forward, through education, practice and politics.
A broad range of speakers from the UK and overseas delivered a variety of interesting and thought-provoking presentations, which covered the history of the VN profession from its earliest days to the present, and looked forward to how the profession might grow and develop in the years ahead.
Presentations from the day may be downloaded.
Delegates were also invited to record their thoughts of the profession's Jubilee year in a guestbook:
“Veterinary nursing has come so far in the last 50 years! I hope we continue with the passion we have to move the profession forward. A profession which has given me a fantastic career that I am very proud to be part of,” said Lisa Mulcock RVN of the Lynwood School of Veterinary Nursing.
