RCVS gives warm welcome to new members

30 July 2003

Newly elected RCVS President, Professor Richard Halliwell, extended a warm welcome to 16 new members from 13 overseas countries in an admissions ceremony held at Belgravia House on Friday 18 July 2003. Having qualified as veterinary surgeons in other countries, 17 veterinary surgeons recently passed the statutory membership examination which entitles them to be admitted to membership of the RCVS and to practise in the UK.

Sixteen successful candidates were present at the ceremony. After each new member had received their membership certificate, Professor Halliwell made a short address welcoming them to the College and congratulating them on passing the examination. He praised them for their hard work and determination in passing the examination and encouraged them to continue their efforts so as to develop their veterinary skills and knowledge throughout their working lives. He assured the new members that the RCVS would be there to help them and offer advice and assistance throughout their careers as veterinary surgeons in the UK.

After the ceremony the new members were invited to drinks in the Members Room where they were able to talk to the President, Registrar and RCVS staff.

Unfortunately owing to technical difficulties photographs of individual graduates will not be available.
