RCVS Question Time comes to Glasgow
14 August 2012
Veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and other members of practice teams from Glasgow are invited to put their questions to us at a ‘Question Time’ meeting to be held at the Erskine Bridge Hotel, Glasgow, on Wednesday 19 September.
President Jacqui Molyneux, as well as other RCVS and Veterinary Nurses Council members, will be at the meeting to listen to veterinary concerns and discuss issues currently affecting the profession.
There is no formal agenda, as the intention is for delegates to steer the discussion, as well as having an opportunity to meet colleagues and the RCVS team in a pleasant and informal setting.
Topics raised at similar recent meetings have included veterinary legislation, the regulation of veterinary nurses and the new Codes of Professional Conduct.
Practice Standards Workshops
We will also be holding 45-minute workshops for veterinary practices about the Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) on the same day, in the same venue.
These are offered on a first-booked, first-served basis to any practice, whether or not they are a part of the voluntary scheme.
Under the new Codes, both veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses are required to maintain minimum practice standards equivalent to the PSS Core Standards, so the workshops are a good opportunity to ask your questions.
The PSS workshops will take place from 1-5pm, with those attending the evening event invited from 6.30pm for a buffet and drinks. The Question Time meeting itself starts at 7.15pm and is expected to end by 10.00pm.
For further information, to book a place or to request a PSS workshop, please contact Fiona Harcourt ([email protected] or 020 7202 0773).
Veterinary surgeons and nurses who consider the meeting and/or workshop to be relevant to their continuing professional development (CPD) can count it towards their RCVS CPD requirements.
