RCVS Question Time travels to South Wales
6 October 2008
The RCVS Officer team will be heading to South Wales on Thursday 27 November for the first Question Time meeting of the new Presidential year.
RCVS Question Time will be held at Miskin Manor Country Hotel and Health Club, near Cardiff, and is an excellent opportunity for all veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and others involved in the profession to meet with colleagues and put their questions to the Officers.
Jill Nute, RCVS President, will be chairing the meeting, and the panel will be made up of the Officer team and Veterinary Nurses Council Chairman Andrea Jeffery, who will be answering your questions and concerns regarding the veterinary profession.
What’s on the agenda is up to the delegates, but likely topics include the registration of veterinary practice premises, the Veterinary Surgeons Act, the provision of veterinary services in rural areas, VN training and regulation and the end of the Office of Fair Trading’s ban on prescription charges.
The evening event kicks off at 6.30pm with drinks, a bite to eat and a chance to catch up with colleagues. Question Time begins at 7:15pm and will finish at approximately 10:00pm.
This is your opportunity to ask the Officers your burning questions, so to book your place contact Fiona Harcourt at the RCVS on 020 7202 0773 or [email protected] before 7 November. All veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses living within reasonable travelling distance of the meeting venue will be sent a personal invitation.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, but have a question you would like to raise, please do write in. The next RCVS Question Time meeting will be held on 26 March 2009 near Kidderminster.
Jill Nute, Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) Manager Eleanor Ferguson and PSS Inspector Pam Mosedale will also be available at Miskin Manor on the afternoon of 27 November at a PSS ‘surgery’, to answer any questions or problems practices may have regarding the Scheme.
Whether a practice is currently accredited or managers are considering joining the Scheme, veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and practice staff are all welcome to attend a confidential 30-minute surgery session, between 1pm and 5pm. For further details about the PSS Surgery contact Fiona Harcourt via the details above to book an appointment.
